About Us

Tawas Rv Park is a family business handed down from generation to generation. It started with Kenneth Thibault Sr when he returned home from WWII and purchased the land where the park stands today. He logged the property, and with the timber from the land, he built the Thibault home and several outbuildings. Soon after, the business opened in 1977 as Townline Campground with a total of 22 campsites tucked into the surrounding woods.

Ken handed down the business to his son, Ken Thibault Jr. Young Ken Thibault envisioned the campgrounds as an RV park vacation getaway. He modernized the property, adding electricity, cable, a bathhouse, and a pavilion. He constructed 47 more campsites, added multiple hiking trails, and created a beautiful pond. With his kind and welcoming spirit, he created the friendly, close-knit atmosphere that has brought campers back again and again.

Today Ken's daughter, Debbie Jordan and her husband, Doug, own and operate the park. With the help of Lynda Pero, the park manager, the spirit that Ken and his father worked so hard to create is kept alive and well.

Tawas RV Park is more than a peaceful spot to spend your vacation, it's also a community experience. You can discover new friendships with other campers through on-site activities and events or even during a stroll through the woods on one of our hiking trails.
